People's Empowerment Movement: U.S. Virgin Islands; We are Virgin Islanders by birth and by choice, united in our determination that government must serve the needs of the people for quality education, affordable home ownership, world-class health care, cultural preservation, food sovereignty, 21st-century economic opportunities, and the sustainable and environmentally sound development of our land, marine, and human resources. We believe in the capability and the responsibility of the people to elect and hold accountable a government that protects and makes manifest their rights. The People's Empowerment Movement is dedicated to providing the information and inspiration that we, the people, need to safeguard our rights and fulfill our responsibilities. We are committed to serving our communities and our islands through our words, our actions and our example.
